Who is the consortium?

Harrow Estates, Bellway Homes, Great Leighs Estates, Moulsham Hall Farms, and Inspired Villages have formed a consortium to provide a high-quality mix of new homes, new community facilities and enhanced open spaces in Great Leighs. We have been working with Chelmsford City Council to develop a comprehensive Masterplan to provide sustainable new growth in Great Leighs since the agreed Local Plan allocated the site for growth in 2020.

Harrow Estates

Harrow Estates is a major development specialist, dedicated to planning promotion, land purchase and infrastructure delivery.

Harrow Estates adopt the lead role in providing planning and design solutions that allow mixed-use schemes to make the transition from concept to reality. Harrow Estates is experienced in master planning, and has had a strong track record of delivering on a number of major developments and garden villages including Kingsmead, Grange Farm,  Ebbsfleet, and Woodford. 

Bellway Homes

Bellway began as a small family business in 1946, with a passion for building exceptional quality homes in carefully selected locations, inspired by the needs of real families.

To this day, Bellway maintains these same core values, combining decades of expertise with the level of personalised care that Bellway is known for.

Inspired Villages

Inspired Villages was established in 2017 to operate and develop later living communities in suburban and rural locations across the UK. As of August 2021, and after four years of phenomenal growth and numerous awards, Inspired Villages is backed by a joint venture partnership between Legal & General and NatWest Group Pension Fund.

Inspired Villages puts the health and happiness of their residents at the heart of everything they do, with the promise of a life less ordinary for today’s generation of retirees.

Moulsham Hall Farms Ltd

Moulsham hall farms is the home of Moulsham Hall and its landholdings. We have worked closely with the Chelmsford City council for the last 8 years to assist with their local plan and to fulfil the requirement of new houses, a new local centre and community facilities as part of the expansion of Great Leighs.

Great Leighs Estates Ltd

Great Leighs Estates Ltd are the owners of Chelmsford City Racecourse and the land surrounding the course from when it was the Essex Showground. Our estates team have worked closely with the planning department in Chelmsford and the government to enhance the area with a world class racecourse and high-quality buildings whilst also providing the land to provide a new retirement village and assist with the unique property requirements of the Showman’s Guild.
